McMinnville – Fall 2020

We have missed you all this summer and have been working very hard trying to figure out what we will be able to do for fall of this year. After many discussions, meetings with teachers, reviewing safety concerns and many many factors, we have decided to offer both a limited schedule of IN PERSON and ZOOM classes for the beginning of this season. Starting us off will be Miss Kathleen and Miss Sara on group classes. Class sizes will be limited and time to clean between classes will part of the schedule. We will have many safety procedures in place, waivers and more!

COMPETITION DATES HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED

STARPOWER                       FEB 12-14, 2021

ONSTAGE NEW YORK        APRIL 30-MAY 2, 2021

This year may turn out as “THE YEAR OF THE SOLOIST” competition speaking, but we have wiggle room if things start to improve and change for the better!

Right now, we will absolutely entertain taking solos and duets at this time. We will think about groups (if possible) later this fall. Production teams and all large groups over 10 dancers on stages are not allowed. With social distancing right now, choreography for groups would obviously be a challenge. So, you can see as of right now, on the schedule, there are no teams, as we need to see how the year starts to unfold. Productions are “ON HOLD” at this time and live singing is not advisable in a group setting right now and masked. Miss Kathleen will be offering a ZOOM group vocal class.

REGISTRATION AND TUITION

Due to the class size limitations, we will not be offering the zebra unlimited program this year or any discounts. Each class is priced individually and will have the IN PERSON and ZOOM prices. We must do this in order to “stay alive” right now and help pay for additional cleaning supplies.

Registration may fill up fast. Once a class fills, we will start waiting list. It is possible we will open more classes, especially once we get underway. We are allowed a maximum of 10 dancers per class and a minimum of 6 dancers to hold the class. If we do not reach 6, that class will be cancelled and we could open a new class off the waiting list or open the time up for studio private lessons.

LOOKING FORWARD

If things start to improve, we will adjust the schedule in January and start working towards teams again, but we will have to see how this all unfolds. We are definitely open to doing choreography and more as long as things go smoothly. We are definitely taking a cautious approach compared to what some other studios are doing. At this point, competitions are also limited on how many dancers are allowed on stage, talking of new competition scheduling procedures and possibly virtual awards. Also, my concern too, is making sure competitions are refunding if events get cancelled again.

If we are forced to close the studio again or quarantine, the classes WILL finish up on Zoom for the session, with no refunds. We are releasing the Sept-Dec schedule only at this point. If you are registered for session 1, you will be able to hold your spot all year if those classes are able to continue.  We understand that COVID-19 is affecting families differently and know some of you may want to return, some of you on Zoom and some may not be ready yet or at all.

We will be releasing our new safety rules regarding masks, social distancing, sanitizing and additional guidelines. We realize that we have fewer options this fall and with class sizes limited, classes could fill quickly.
